122nd in shaping minds and souls
The high school day is the most anticipated day for many students. This 122nd Anniversary of Ilocos Sur National High School started with a parade, followed by a field demonstration, and lastly a concert.
The parade started at ISNHS and also ended there. Every moment was fun, even though the route of ours was that far for some to endure. We reached the school with all smiles and laughter. As the MC called our section, we shouted “All is well, Maxwell!” lungs out.
We then proceeded to our classroom and prepared for the next activity, which was a field demonstration. With the sun shining so bright as it was also celebrating with us, students in different grade levels competed with each other, showcasing our talents in dancing with our chosen festival. As we danced and swayed with our smiles, Grade 10 boys were announced as the champions and Grade 10 girls garnered the 3rd spot. Despite that, it didn’t reduce my excitement, and the high school day must go on.
Subsequently, we proceeded to our classroom, shared a snack and get ready for the next high school day activity, the concert at the gymnasium. Before going to the gym, I stopped by our booth and helped sell thrift items and handmade Vigan products, such as fans. When it was already 1:00 pm, I proceeded to the gym and secured a spot to sit on for the concert. But as a club officer, my duty didn’t end at the bazaar, together with my co-officers, we sold the fans in the gym, and guess what, the fans were almost sold out!
As the performers started strumming, humming, and beating, everyone cheered to show support. Teacher and student performers showed their unique talents and skills in this activity. I remember shouting the lyrics of a song like there’s no tomorrow. It was a very great and memorable experience after all.
With that, the High school day ended with a smile plastered on my face and goes home with a heart at ease.
Aim High, Fly Soar, Ilocos Sur National High School!
