Path to Progress
They have experienced a lot of this society. Before and even now, women are usually discriminated against because, as they say, if you are a woman you can’t do anything, that you can’t do what the other sex can. Long ago, women were treated unfairly, they could only stay at their houses doing chores while waiting for their husbands to go home. But as time passed by, I can’t deny that our society has improved. Women now have their rights.
According to the Philippine Commission on Women, the Magna Carta of Women (MWC) is a comprehensive law on women’s human rights that aims to abolish discrimination by recognizing, protecting, fulfilling, and promoting the rights of Filipino women, particularly those from marginalized groups in society. Additionally, according to the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines, RA 6725 forbids discrimination in employment terms and conditions based only on sex. Under this rule, any employer who favors a male employee over a female in terms of promotion, training chances, and other perks exclusively based on gender is considered discriminatory.
Women are like a star in the sky. They illuminate the entire nation and provide hope. In their voices, you feel their courage and determination to face life's challenges. They never give up no matter what happens because they stand by the paths they have chosen toward societal change.
The voice of women is not just a mere sound but serves as an inspiration not only to their fellow women but also to all genders. They are the stars of the future who continue to journey on the path of progress, carrying the dreams of many for a better tomorrow.
Now, I would like you to meet Her. The first person I would run to when life gets tough and uneasy. She never leaves me and is with me through my ups and downs, strength, and fears. She’s the one who taught and told me to be strong, and independent, and to never let myself and my thoughts be neglected. SHE is my Mom, who is as pure as a white tulip.
Women show that gender is not a barrier to reaching dreams. Throughout history, they have given more value to society. And yes, they are women, but they never closed their eyes or gave up on the hardships they have endured just to give society fair and equal treatment.
